Add Ons
These are additional tools that may be added to sessions booked to promote more support and relaxation
Cupping (Air suction method & glass cups with fire)
Cupping is an additional modality that utilizes suction like tools to bring inflammation, lactic acid, and other floating lymph closer to the surface that is then moved into your lymphatic nodes to drain through supportive massage technique. Cupping can also help to support stuck in contraction muscle groups that need additional help alongside Trigger Point Therapy and other neuromuscular techniques. Cupping may induce more inflammation and may not always be the most effective tool for all bodies.
(NEW) Herbal Poultice
Herbal poultices are cross cultural tools with a deep historical relevancy in Thai origins related to body care & massage therapy / these poultices are sourced from a small business in Bangkok, Thailand – each poultice is packed with turmeric (Curcuma longa), ginger (Zingiber officinale), kaffir (Citrus hystrix), and lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus). When warmed, the aromatics from the herbs act as an acute heating and inflammation aid to increase circulation immediately and bring blood flow to the area of contact. This can help release stuck in contraction muscle groups, scar tissue softening, poor circulation, cramping, strains/sprains, lymph drainage, chronic stagnant inflammation, and help open sinus passage ways. These are helpful for people recovering from surgery, athletes with current or previous injuries, everyday postural effects from long sustained sitting/standing, and for people who suffer from chronic migraines. Those who are sensitive to aromatics / aromatherapy may not be compatible with this modality.
Hot Stones
Hot Stones are effectively utilized to apply heat to different areas of soft tissue to help decrease muscle tension, spasm, cramping, and stuck in contraction neuromuscular patterns. Hot Stones may induce more inflammation and may not always be the most effective tool for all bodies.
