Intraoral Massage (Buccal)

What is it?

Intraoral massage therapy also known as Buccal massage refers to therapeutic technique provided to clients within the inner mouth. There are several facial muscles that help to support the movement of the jaw that attach in different locations, some of those attachments are only accessible through the inside of the mouth. This can be very supportive & intensive work especially for clients who have a history of jaw misalignment, tension, clenching, and grinding. These movements are often a result of nervous system disregulation, while some forms of misalignment develop based on genetic & biological factors. This work can help relieve pain and tension around the jaw.

The therapist will sanitize hands and wear non latex gloves while working to apply pressure inside of the mouth along structural aspects of the jaw. For people who receive botox and/or fillers please wait 3-4 weeks before booking this service. For people receiving FFS or FMS please wait 6-8 weeks and receive clearance from your PCP. This service is bookable through the facial massage options only as it requires extensive warming of the outer facial muscles before providing internal support.
